Amazing footage shows the first full moon of 2021 appearing in the night sky in the Philippines.

Astronomy enthusiast Trixie May Calain Nietes recorded the heavenly body’s time-lapse video outside her house in Bulacan province on January 29.

She said it had been cloudy for days in their village due to the monsoon, but she was glad that it had finally shown up.

She said: ‘It had been cloudy for days now so I was so happy last night and was a little bit teary-eyed when I finally saw it. I’ve been waiting for it since the year started.’

The January full moon is often referred to as ‘Wolf Moon’ as hungry wolves would howl outside Native American tribe villages during this time of the year when it’s cold.
