Manta Ray Night Dive Kona, Hawaii
Ever wondered what it's like to stare into the mouth of a giant Manta Ray? On average these rays will be about 12 feet, but can grow a wingspan up to 18 feet. My husband, my friends, and myself had prime seating for a fireside chat with these gentle giants sitting at 50 feet in Manta Cove outside of Kona, Hawaii January 14, 2021. Our dive guide was my friend Sandy who works with Kona Honu Divers, a local dive company in Kona. While I've done this dive a few times, I've never had this much interaction. Definitely an experience I'll never forget.
