I was spending the day paddleboarding around Port Stephens. I had been out for about an hour enjoying the sun and trying to see any wildlife with no luck. I began to head back to the beach when a large grey animal swam quickly underneath me. I instantly panicked thinking the worst but thakfully, a dolphin broke the surface of the water just next to me. My anxiety now squashed, I realised I had 4 dolphins all around me which were clearly curious as to what I was doing. I quickly turned my GoPro on to record what was happening. They were taking turns swimming beneath me and coming up for a breath all around me. They stayed with me for about 10 minutes then moved to deeper water. I am still so thanful to have had this encounter and even more thankful that I was able to capture a quick snippet of it to share with everyone!
