Breaking - Glacier burst in Chamoli , more than 100 feared dead
A glacier burst near Reni village in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand has flooded the Dhauli-ganga river.
SDRF and ITBP personnel are carrying out rescue operations. 300 army personnel have been deployed to the spot. The local residents near the river down stream are being evacuated. Meanwhile a 150 people are missing, 2 casualties have been reported so far. The floods have destroyed the bankside houses near Reni. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit shah are are also taking stock of the situation in Chamoli. Meanwhile an alert has been issued to the near-by districts of Uttarakhand.
Speaking on the issue Uttrakhand DGP Ashok kunar said this incident completely destroyed rishi ganga power project . More than 50 people work there , all are missing . Exact numbers will be shared after some time
