A cyclist in Castleford was determined to get to his destination today (7th February) when he waded through floodwater with his bicycle.
The incident took place on Barnsdale Road between Allerton Bywater & Castleford in West Yorkshire, after the River Aire burst it's banks nearby and caused the road to flood. While the road was closed to vehicles by the authorities, this cyclist was adamant he was getting through.
At one point the depth of water came up to the mans waist and he managed to make it through to the other side.
This is the 2nd time Barnsdale Road has closed due to flooding in 2 weeks when Storm Christoph also closed the road.
