Snow stopped traffic on the A249 Sheppey bridge in both directions in Kent, southeast England on Sunday (February 7).

Eyewitness video filmed by a passenger of a car shows stricken vehicles halted in the snow. "Cars were driving the wrong way down the dual carriageway," filmer Vicki Broome, from Minster on Sea on the Isle of Sheppey, told Newsflare in a telephone interview.

"Oh my god, look at them all," the driver can be heard saying in Broome's video, as passengers can been walking outside of their stationary vehicles on the opposite side of the dual carriageway to her moving vehicle. At least one HGV can be seen stuck in the video and two cars - both with lights flashing - drive the wrong way down the dual carriageway.

Broome told Newsflare: "The snow came down quite quickly. I crossed Sheppey bridge then came back over it 20 minutes later and the traffic was blocked and cars were driving the wrong way down the dual carriageway."

More snow is forecast on Sunday evening and Monday as Storm Darcy hits much of the UK.

"Further #snow will affect the UK this evening, with some heavy and persistent snowfall in the southeast," the Met Office tweeted.
