The funeral has taken place of Rabbi Chaim Meir Wosner in Bnei Brak, Israel, drawing large crowds despite Covid-19 rules.

Rabbi Wosner had tested positive for coronavirus and was being treated at a medical center in Bnei Brak when he died on Sunday (February 7), aged 82.

Video shows a huge crowd in attendance for the rabbi's funeral, which also took place on Sunday.

Wosner was the dean of Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva.

He was the son of spiritual leader Rabbi Shmuel Wosner, who died in 2015 at the age of 101. According to the Times of Israel, 100,000 people attended Shmuel Wosner’s funeral, with two people dying due to the crowds.
