Shoppers fled in panic when a magnitude 6 earthquake struck Mindanao province in the Philippines on Sunday afternoon (Feb 7).

The shopping mall in General Santos City shook from the force of the tremors – sparking chaos as locals ran for the exits.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the magnitude 6. 1 quake struck an area around five kilometers southwest of Magsaysay town at 12:22 with a depth of around 15 kilometers.

No immediate damage or injuries were reported but the country’s seismology experts warned locals to brace themselves for aftershocks.
