Heartwarming footage captures the moment an Alberta-based breeder of Goldendoodles surprised a young girl with another puppy after her first one passed away. Izzy and her mom received their first puppy from Shannon Cowden at the end of November and named him Bailey. Unfortunately, Bailey developed aspirational pneumonia within weeks of moving to his new home and vets were not able to save him.

Knowing that Izzy was devastated, Shannon kept in regular touch wither her mom and promised them the first pick of a litter coming up in spring. As fate would have it, Izzy’s wait for a new puppy would be shorter than expected. When one of the buyers for Shannon’s current litter decided that it wasn’t a good time for the family to get a puppy, Shannon informed Izzy’s mom and plans were put in place for a surprise.

After a three-hour journey Izzy arrived at Shannon’s residence with her mother and grandmother under the context of saying goodbye to the remaining puppies in the litter. Izzy was soo excited to see a puppy named Green Boy that she failed to notice Shannon telling her twice that only owners get to hold puppies. Once Izzy realized what was happening she went from shock to tears of joy.

Speaking about the video Shannon said: “I had a litter of puppies at the end of November. One of the puppies was sold to Izzy & her mom. They named their puppy Bailey. Unfortunately Bailey died suddenly of aspirational pneumonia.

I didn’t have any puppies left so I promised Izzy & her mom Lindsay that they would get first pick in my spring litter. Then just 6 days before go home day I spoke with a buyer who had decided that right now wasn’t a good time for her family; but the spring would be better.

I immediately contacted Lindsay & asked if she would like to switch places with the other buyer. She was so excited and agreed. We decided that we would keep this a secret and give Izzy the surprise of a lifetime. Once she realized he was hers she went from shock to tears. It was amazing! The best surprise I’ve ever experienced.”
