St James's Park lake in central London froze over on Thursday (February 11) as Storm Darcy - dubbed 'Beast From The East 2' - continued to chill the capital.

A flock of birds were seen standing on the frozen lake, which is a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace.

There is a yellow warning for snow & ice from the Met Office for most of London until 11 am on Thursday. The UK recorded its coldest night in more than two decades overnight as temperatures plunged to -23C in Braemar, Scotland.
