Big rescue operation for little snake that ate huge frog in Indonesia

This was the moment a non-venomous green keelback snake got itself lodged in the foundations of a house after preying upon a frog.

Footage shows the rescue operation for the reptile as it was pulled out of a crevice in the wall of a western Indian home.

The frog took refuge among the foundation stones of a small house in Ahmednagar but was unable to dodge the hunter.

But after the hunt, the predator had a problem of its own.

While the keelback had easily slithered into the foundation, it was unable to pull out after its meal, thanks to a bloated stomach.

Villagers saw the exposed tip of its tail, wriggling for a few hours, and called Animal Rescue Society.

Akash Jadhav visited the village with his team and eased the snake out by removing a stone from the basement.

As they watched, the stressed snake regurgitated the frog, almost a quarter of its length and much larger in girth.

Akash said: “We knew that the snake had eaten either a huge rat or a frog and was stuck inside because of that. It was later released in a nearby forest.”
