Officials seized illicit liquor worth Rs 16 lakh (USD 22,082) in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on February 22. The incident took place in Vinukonda, a town in the Guntur district.

The illicit liquor was being smuggled into the state from Goa. The authorities were monitoring the movement of the lorries and seized unauthorized alcohol. The Vinukonda police officials arrested six people involved in the smuggling while further investigation into the matter is underway.
