Firefighters rescued a cow trapped in an abandoned root cellar in China.

The heroic video, filmed in the city of Dalian in Liaoning Province on February 11, shows a fireman climbing down into a 2-metre-deep cellar.

He then attached ropes to the animal which weighs around 650 kilograms.

A truck crane was then used to lift the cattle up.

According to reports, the cement canopy of the cellar collapsed as it was worn down over the years.

The cow stepped onto the collapsed canopy and fell into the abandoned cellar.

The cow was rescued in just seven minutes and it was not injured.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
