A Ferrari burst into flames when it was driving along a road in eastern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Dongyang in Zhejiang Province on February 22, shows a ball of fire suddenly emerging from the back of the car speeding along a road.

Firefighters used a water hose to extinguish the fire but half of the car was completely charred.

According to reports, the motorist sped the Ferrari along the section of the road back and forth several times and the flames sprayed out of the exhaust pipe.

After the motorist noticed the smoke coming out of the back of his car, he got out of the vehicle to check. But the fire quickly engulfed his car.

Since there was no extinguisher in his car, he could only watch as his vehicle has engulfed by the flames.

2月22日中午，在东阳市吴宁街道一处道路，一辆法拉利行驶中发生自燃，车子烧成了空壳。

接到报警后，消防、交警部门迅速赶到现场，法拉利跑车的后半部正猛烈燃烧，经过约10分钟的救援，大火被扑灭，不过车子的后半部分已经全部被烧毁。

【东阳市消防救援大队振兴路站副站长 曹希达】据车主介绍说，这个车子是两百多万，车子是后置发动机，火灭掉以后，我们看整个车子的后半部分全部被烧毁，只剩下壳了。

据驾驶员说，行驶中他发现车辆后部冒烟，就立即停车检查，车子很快就烧了起来。

【东阳市消防救援大队振兴路站副站长 曹希达】我们询问车主，他说当时他开着开着，就感觉那个车子后面冒烟，他当时就下车了，后来他下车之后他又说他返回，然后把车子熄火的，然后就是站在路边看了，也没办法。

法拉利行驶中为何自燃？监控还原了事发经过。当天中午12点35分左右，这辆法拉利来到事发路段，来回几次直线加速行驶，排气管都喷出了火焰，最终车子的右后侧冒烟起火，驾驶员只能眼睁睁的看着车子烧毁。（视频由金华台提供）
