An incredible challenge in York, United Kingdom, as a man pulled an entire plane through a marathon for charity, filmed on September 1, 2020.

Carl Thomas, 36, is a kickboxing coach from Stockport, Manchester, and an extreme charity athlete.

For the length of an entire marathon, Carl pulled a plane to raise money for a children's charity called Ollie's Army.

Carl said in the video, "I set a new world record by being the first human to run a marathon pulling a plane. It took 23 hours and 11 minutes."

"My previous challenges include running from London to Stockport, (ten marathons in ten days). I also cycled 1500 miles in ten days. My next challenge is to take on the Ultimate Iron Man in July 2021."

Carl added that he was originally inspired by Eddie Izzard many years ago, after watching his marathon challenge for charity. As a retired world champion kick-boxer, Carl was looking for a way to push himself to new limits for a great cause.

Carl continued saying, "For the plane marathon, I decided to find a small charity that never really receives any large funding. I went for Ollie's Army in Poynton, which is a children's charity for kids with Battens disease."

"My mentality has always been very strange to most people as I enjoy the journey of training and the challenges. I enjoy the feeling of being pushed to my limit and almost breaking point."

The Ultimate Iron Man is a 250 mile cycle, 5 mile swim, and a 26.2 mile marathon, followed by a 2.5 mile plane pull at Elvington Airfield!

"I have had numerous friends who have battled cancer so my first two challenges were for Macmillan and the Teenager Cancer Trust. My friend who has beaten cancer twice is involved with my next challenge too!" said Carl.
