A plant s pod that bursts when comes into contact with water in South India.

A kid found a plant and plucked it's pod and accidentally dropped it in water all of a sudden it bursted with a mild noise. The kid was over excited and tried the same as many times as possible when every time he dropped the pod bursted out its seeds.

Then when asked about the plant to a Botanist in Agriculture University of Tamilnadu he explained "Yes there is a plant called Ruellia tuberosa. It's native is Central America but it is spread along South East Asia also. And he also added that the plant has
some other names of the such as popping pod, duppy gun and cracker plant come from the fact that children like to play with the dry pods that pop when rubbed with spit or water".
