On the morning of February 26, an explosion occurred in a cafe, which is located in an annex to a 12-storey building on Meshchersky Boulevard in Nizhny Novgorod. The blast was reported at 9:13 p.m. Moscow time.

There was a partial collapse in the cafe. According to eyewitnesses, the blast wave damaged cars parked near the scene.
According to the agency, one person was injured in the blast, and two others may be under rubble.

Good morning, I want to tell you about the explosion that occurred on the Meshchersky boulevard. According to my video, which I shot, it was somewhere at 09:10. I started shooting the video at 09:13. I was going to work in the direction of the metro, there was a crunch for a couple of seconds,then a pop. I looked around, found nothing. I went closer to the subway, looking at a large column of smoke. I came closer. We look already the smoke increases. There was a smell of burning, we called the service. A woman was walking next to me, and she called the emergency services. We explained geographically where the explosion occurred, as I am not well oriented and I think she is too. In general, we simply described the house. But as it seemed to us it was a medical clinic. Services were called, I came closer and filmed what I saw, what was happening. The first floor, part of the office buildings, collapsed there. Next to the medical clinic, I do not know what was there. But according to the map, there was a cafe there. From the medical clinic, the employees themselves came out, who was injured, I do not know. But I noticed that the second floor was also partially damaged: there were no windows, there were pieces of metal on the streetlights next to the house and across the street. Traffic was blocked."
