Residents continued to protest in Yangon despite heavy police resistance as the unrest against the coup grows.

Footage from Friday (February 26) shows hundreds of protesters occupying the side of a road as police forced monitor from a distance.

A large number of protesters were seen brandishing banners that read "release our leaders now!"

According to reports, police forces fired warnings shots as they attempted to disperse the protest.
