Fear gripped the locals upon spotting a crocodile amid a road in central India's Madhya Pradesh on February 27. The incident took place in Imaliya village, located in the Damoh district.

Visuals show the crocodile lying in the shade of a tree on the roadside. The locals tie a rope around its neck and attempt to scare it into retreating by throwing water at it. The onlookers gather at a safe distance to behold the experience while the forest and police officials rush to the spot.

Upon being unsuccessful in getting rid of the crocodile themselves, the locals alerted the police and the forest department. The officials reached the spot and immediately dove into the rescue operation. They captured the crocodile and released it into a river. However, the team is yet to ascertain the reason for the crocodile invading the residential region.
