Intense footage shows housefly struggling to set itself free from grips of spider
A gripping yet one-sided battle between a housefly and a house spider was caught on camera on February 6, 2021.
In this video recorded by Martin French in Norwich, Norfolk, UK, a house spider can be seen trying to pull a fly into its lair so it can eventually kill and eat it. However, the fly is leaving no stone unturned to free itself from the wrath of the spider.
After a 2-minute battle between strength and will, strength takes over and the spider successfully sucks all the hope out of the fly.
Martin said: "I breed exotic insects as a business, BugzUK, so I am always taking videos for my Instagram account. Whilst setting up a video, I heard a fly in trouble, buzzing away, so I managed to catch this house spider trying to pull a fly into its lair and buzzing like mad trying to escape, to no avail."
In less than 20 days, this Instagram clip has garnered more than 180K likes.
