Not all chickens are created equal, as video evidence recorded March 2 in Vietnam shows.

The rare Vietnamese chicken breed is called the Dong Tao, and the legs of these birds are grotesque, gawky and giant to say the least.

This chicken weighs about 6.5 kg and the special thing about its legs is huge and wacky.

The video shows 2 chickens with very big, ugly, eccentric legs. Each leg of the 4-year-old chicken weighs up to 1 kg (A pair of legs can weigh up to almost 2 kg). Dong Tao is a rare breed of chicken that is famous in Vietnam for its delicious meat which is served in restaurants that cater to affluent customers. Are native to the Dong Tao commune in Khoai Chau district, about 20 miles from Hanoi.

This unique type of chicken is also known for its imposing figure and stout legs covered with reddish scales. The male adult Dong Tao weighs about 6 kilograms and its legs are as thick as a human’s wrist.

A pair of chickens like in this video can cost a staggering £ 1,500 as they are so scarce.
