Wednesday morning (17/02/21), thin smog began to be felt in Pontianak City and its surroundings at least until 09.00 am.

The haze is thought to have been caused by peatland fires that occurred at several points in Pontianak City and Kubu Raya Regency, including in the areas of South Pontianak, Southeast Pontianak, and Sungai Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency.

Until Wednesday morning (17/02/21), the Air Pollution Index viewer or ISPU in Pontianak City still shows a particulate pollution index of 10 meters in the good category. Meanwhile, based on the Lapan website, 47 hotspots data in West Kalimantan in the last 24 hours were recorded.

If land fires continue, the smog has the potential to increase in the Pontianak area.
