This is the bizarre moment a pickup truck driver was seen dragging huge piece of steel mesh along the road.

The metal wires, used for laying foundations on construction sites, were too big to fit in the back of the vehicle.

However, rather than hire a bigger lorry to carry the equipment the driver had his own ideas.

Footage shows how the driver simply tied the 32ft long metal to the back of the vehicle and dragged them along the road in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thailand, on February 26.

Fellow road user Korakot, who recorded the video, said: ‘I couldn’t believe what the person was doing when I saw them. They were damaging the road surface and they could have caused a serious accident.’

Wire foundation mesh is used in the ground to mix with concrete when building structures.
