A runaway buffalo was shot dead by police after attacking villagers in eastern China.

The terrifying video, shot in the city of Taizhou in Jiangsu Province on March 4, shows a frightened buffalo flinging two citizens into the air after running into them in an alley.

The buffalo was frightened and ran away after a resident just purchased the animal and brought it back to the village.

After the police arrived, they locked the yard door of a villager’s house as the buffalo ran inside as well as evacuating the nearby residents.

The buffalo was finally shot dead by the police after injuring three people.

The three injured people were sent to hospital for treatment and none of them were in life-threatening conditions.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
