Chunks of ice on a freshwater lake were pushed to the shore as the temperature rose in northern China.

The video, filmed in Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in Inner Mongolia on February 28, shows the frozen surface on the Bosten Lake cracking and chunks of ice being pushed to the shore.

Since the temperature increased, the frozen freshwater lake started to melt.

The ice pushing phenomenon reportedly appeared two weeks earlier than usual.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
