A hotel in eastern China has installed microchips into their towels and bedding to supervise with cleaning.

In the video, shot in the city of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province on March 2, an employee in a hotel named Atour used a radio-frequency identification device to scan the chips in bedding and a number then appeared on the phone.

If the bedding is not changed, the number shown on the phone will be insufficient.

Towels specifically used to clean basins will trigger a loud warning siren if they are used in other areas such as a toilet.

According to reports, 14 hotels in Xiacheng District in Hangzhou started to use the smart supervise system.
