Firefighters from the Indonesian city of Padang removed a 7-metre-long reticulated python form the bathroom of a local resident on Monday (March 15).

It took a crew of seven to subdue the enormous reptile which was described as "aggressive and hungry."

Firefighters worked for around an hour to remove the snake from the private property, according to the head of the fire department, Dedi Henidal.

Henidal said recent weather changes may be prompting snakes to be more active and search for food and new habitats.

He urged members of the public to immediately get in touch with the authorities if they encounter dangerous reptiles.

The reticulated python is the world's longest snake.

A reticulated python or Pythonidae about 7 meters long was evacuated by the Padang city firefighters from the bathroom of a resident of the Batu Loyo area, Aur Duri, Padang, Monday (15/3/2021). Seekor ular sanca batik atau Pythonidae yang panjangnya sekitar 7 meter di evakuasi petugas pemadam kebakaran kota Padang dari kamar mandi warga kawasan Batu Loyo, Aur Duri, Padang, Senin (15/3/2021).

Tujuh personil diturunkan untuk mengevakuasi Ular Phyton yang terlihat agresif dan lapar tersebut.

Kepala dinas pemadam kebakaran, Dedi Henidal menerangkan, sekitar satu jam lamanya ular yang berada di kamar mandi pemukiman warga tersebut di evakuasi.

" Ular tersebut cukup agresif, jadi personil harus berhati hati dalam penyelamatan hewan melata tersebut," pungkasnya

Beberapa hari ke belakang, petugas juga telah mengevakuasi ular yang sama di sekitar pemukiman warga, dan hal tersebut berkemungkinan perubahan cuaca saat ini mengakibatkan ular keluar dari sarangnya untuk mencari makan dan habitat baru.

Dedi Henidal juga mengimbau masyarakat, apabila menemukan hewan reptil tersebut, seperti ular, biawak, dan hewan melata lainnya, bisa menghubungi pihak Damkar untuk segera mengatasi atau penyelamatan hewan tersebut.(moozamochi).
