Forest officials uncovered a tigress' dead body in central India's Madhya Pradesh, following which an investigation was launched into the matter on March 13. The incident took place near the Singhori Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Raisen district.

Visuals show the feline lying lifelessly amid a clearing in the region. The big cat's mutilated corpse rests intertwined in branches on the ground, following which the officials rush to the spot and carry the tigress's body for examination in a cloth sheet.

The feline's death was reported on Saturday evening, following which the senior forest officials rushed to the spot, located about 70 km (43.49 miles) from the district headquarters. Upon examination, it was revealed that the big cat had an injured limb. Moreover, a team of experts from Hoshangabad and Bhopal carried out the autopsy of the tigress.

The farmers in the region often leave their irrigation instruments running and add current to the water to save their crops from the wild animals that trespass in the region. However, the exact cause of the 6-year-old feline's death is yet to be ascertained.
