Firefighters rescued stranded vehicles and trapped motorists due to a heavy snowstorm in northern China.

The video, shot in the city of Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia on March 15, shows rescue vehicles driving to save motorists in their cars through strong snow with extremely low visibility.

In another clip, dozens of vehicles got stranded on a snow-covered road and firefighters used shovels and their bare hands to dig the snow away from their cars before helping push the vehicles to move.

According to reports, some motorists had been stuck in snow for around seven hours when the firefighters arrived on the site.

After around three hours, 36 vehicles and 110 trapped motorists were saved and the 3-kilometre-long road covered by thick snow has been broken through successfully.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
