Indonesians mix sand with peanuts to create traditional roasted snack
Roasted peanuts are a popular snack in Indonesia where they are traditionally prepared with a liberal sprinkling of sand.
Footage filmed in West Sumatra on March 11 shows a cook stirring a huge metal pan of the nuts with their shells on over a fire.
The sand helps heat the nuts to the perfect temperature and is dusted off before eating.
