Thousands of locals took to the streets in Idlib to mark the 10th anniversary of the Syrian conflict.

Demonstrators marched through one of the last rebel-held cities to mark the 10th year since nationwide anti-government protests sparked the country's civil war.

Locals were seen waving Syrian flags as well as dancing and chanting "freedom" on March 15.

Thousands joined the demonstration in Syria's last standing rebel stronghold of Idlib on Monday, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the civil war in the country.

The demonstrators marched through the city, now dominated by jihadist militias, carrying the opposition's flags and portraits of those killed in the decade-long fighting.

"Freedom, freedom, freedom," they chanted, echoing the first protests that rocked Syria in 2011, amid the Arab Spring demonstrations in the Middle East.
