Police officials raid illicit liquor manufacturing unit in southern India
The police officials raided an illicitly distilled (ID) liquor manufacturing unit in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on March 18. The incident took place in Rajavommangi in East Godavari District.
A video features a couple of officials locating the furnace where the manufacturing takes place. Following this, they also discover a pipeline through which water gets supplied for making the liquor. Moreover, they seize numerous barrels and tons of jaggery from the spot and apprehend the accused.
A team led under the guidance of East Godavari Superintendent of Police, Adnan Asmi of the Indian Police Service, Additional Superintendent of Police, Sumit Garud of the Indian Police Service, planned and executed the raid with ES Prasad, leading enforcement teams on the ground.
The team of officials raided the illicitly distilled (ID) liquor manufacturing unit and also located the diesel engine and 800m pipeline through which the water was being supplied for making the fermented jaggery (FJ) wash. They also seized three tons of jaggery and around 120 empty plastic barrels from the spot. Moreover, they also discovered their shed and four furnaces inside the woods and recovered 150 liters of liquor and 5000 liters of the FJ wash.
Following the incident, the authorities apprehended the four accused from the spot and seized their bike. Furthermore, the daily production capacity of the unit was 100 liters of ID liquor, with a daily turnover of Rs. 1 lakh (USD 1,379).
