Locals complain about heavy damages on properties by migrants roaming in groups looking for ways to escape the border fence, the consequence of the change in the patrols in Idomeni for covid issues has upset the local community, as only on Monday there were bloody clashes between migrants, mainly Afghans and Pakistanis, near the place where the old camp of Idomeni was located. The "headache" for the residents of the area, however, does not stop here. Idomeni is once again emerging as an "exit gate" to the north, receiving alarmingly increasing pressure from groups of immigrants who flock every day without observing the necessary protection measures for the coronavirus, especially now that the weather has improved. Only on Tuesday, the police of Northern Macedonia deported to Greece 300 people who had crossed the borderline illegally.

Shot List
00:00 - 00:22 Groups of immigrants crossing the fields next to the Greek- North Macedonian border, in the area of Idomeni. Families having children can be seen among them
00:23 - 01:01 Agricultural warehouses and barns in the village of Idomeni have been broken into by migrants who seek a temporary shelter overnight until they find a way to cross the border. Discarded rubbish, clothes and cans everywhere. Extinguished fires in barns full of straw pose a high risk of a generalized fire which, threatening to destroy farmers' property and also endanger human lives.
01:02 - 01:46 Xanthoula Soupli mayor of the local community of Idomeni
"The flows of migrants coming to Idomeni border have been increased lately, we have a problem again with the immigrants, especially now that we do not have patrols, this is happening as there is not enough policing in Idomeni village. Our police department has 3 patrol vehicles, of which 2 units are sent for COVID regulations checks out of Idomeni to other areas. Residents are feeling insecure because of the flows of migrants, many of them wandering around hungry, we have a number of incidents like 3 days ago there was a stabbing between immigrants, they have nothing to eat and when a person is hungry, he has no clothes to change, nowhere to sleep, for him is nothing to break into an inhabitable house in the village of Idomeni.
01:47 - 02:32 Damages and tear down fences inside a vineyard property in Idomeni village. The wooden floor of the warehouse has been stripped off to be used as fuel while piles of garbage lying all around the property. The signs of the fire the immigrants lit to keep warm during the night are still visible on the walls while a message for the landowner was written on the outer wall "Sorry for everything we did in this area, sorry"
02:33 - 03:25 Christos landowner and beekeeper
"My name is Christos and I am a beekeeper here in Idomeni, I personally this year lost around 12-15 beehives from refugees or immigrants as I happened to have my hives placed near a passage where immigrants pass. They opened the hives, threw away the lids, the honey, all this damage resulted in me having a great financial loss. In general, the problem intensifies not only in my own sector where I am a beekeeper but also in the agricultural crops and structures of other farmers because it is not only the immigrants who come to the Greek border to leave, there is also the problem where flows of people from Skopia (North Macedonia) are being pushed back to Greek territory. So all this creates a lot of congestion here in Idomeni and we have these results."
03:26 - 03:56 Immigrants follow a path into the fields and led to the vineyard through the wipe open fence. Personal belongings and a large portion of can food and plastic bags testify that a large number of people have found refuge in the area.
03:57 - 04:18 A group of young Afghans wandering in the wilderness seeking a hole in the fence of the Greek - North Macedonian border
04:19 - 06:50 Ahmad an immigrant from Afghanistan is trying to reach Germany, he explains his struggle during the journey and how he was pushed from Bulgaria back to Greece as he lacks official documents to travel anywhere.
06:51 - 07:03 The gate of the barbed wire fence on the Greek - North Macedonian border opens often for the tactic of "push-back" immigrants to Greece. As soon as they return, they start all over again to find another way towards central Europe.
07:04 - 07:29 Train lines that migrants follow to find their way to the border. There are many who hide in the wagons of commercial trains and thus manage to cross the border.
