The residents of a village north of Hanoi, Vietnam, have decorated their community with artwork comprised of discarded materials.

Several mosaics are seen embedded onto the walls as the filmer strolls down a street in Lien Mac.

The pieces of art have been made from ceramic fragments, broken bottles and glass collected by locals.

Nguyen Thi Hien, who started the project, said: "The idea of this artistic path has been cherished for a few years but has only been implemented."

She added that the artwork is intended to raise awareness for environmental protection by recycling waste.

This footage was filmed on March 22.
