Japan's famous cherry blossom, or "sakura" as it's known locally, is getting close to full-bloom in the Japanese capital.

This footage shows the scene in Inokashira Park in Tokyo today (March 24).

The park is one of the city's most famous sakura spots and would normally be teeming with visitors eager to soak in the glory of spring.

This year, however, due to COVID-19 barriers are in place at best sakura-watching spots to prevent crowds from forming and benches are out of action.

Sakura enthusiasts can still wander around the park snapping selfies or take a spin on the lake in a pedalo and enjoy the stunning seasonal vistas.

This park is one of the most famous and popular sakura spots in Tokyo and there usually A LOT of people enjoying sakura under the cherry blossom trees in the past but there are only a few people drinking this year. People still can enjoy sakura by walking through, and stopped and take selfies. There are some best spots to enjoy sakura in this park but there are barricade so people can not enter the best spots and can’t use benches, also can’t even use playground.
It’s not full bloom yet, around 70-80 percent but it was indeed beautiful.
