Nurses, technicians, cleaners and other health sector workers (not doctors) took to the streets to protest against government policies to tackle COVID-19 in Lima, Peru on March 23.

This time the workers arrived at the offices of the Ministry of Health in search of a meeting with Minister Oscar Ugarte, who had traveled to the north of the country. The police had to use their shields and tear gas canisters to remove the protesters who interrupted the traffic of transport vehicles on the avenue in front of the health ministry and set fire to a coffin replica bearing the name of the health minister.
