A wild giant panda was captured digging through snow to reach a drinking fountain in southern China.

The video was filmed at the Giant Panda National Park in the city of Dujiangyan in Sichuan Province on March 15.

According to reports, there is an animal drinking fountain under the snow. The panda knew its location and was able to dig it out.

There are six animal drinking fountains in the Giant Panda National Park and the wild animals used them very often.

3月15日，四川大熊猫国家公园都江堰管护总站龙池管护站的工作人员对龙池片区的红外线相机进行了数据采集。通过整理发现，安放在龙池爪爪山区域海拔2300米的两台相机，在今年1月3日和1月4日两天中，拍摄到一只野生大熊猫在雪地里刨坑找水，喝水喝到醉氧犯困，画面十分可爱。

原来，画面中野生大熊猫寻找的水坑，是一个人工辅助设置的动物饮水点，野生大熊猫对这样的饮水点也已经形成自然意识，虽然在冬季饮水点被冰雪覆盖，但大熊猫还是会到饮水点刨冰找水喝。

据介绍，该饮水点属于2015年6月都江堰管护总站与世界自然基金会合作开展实施的保护区熊猫活动关键区动物补水点建设及后续监测项目之一。为有效解决地震及震后次生灾害导致熊猫活动关键区地表可利用水源减少，影响大熊猫及其同域物种正常的繁衍生息难题，该项目共建设了6个同类型的补水点位。通过后续跟踪监测发现，野生动物对饮水点的利用非常频繁，证实人工辅助饮水点项目成效显著，很好地解决了地震后这个区域的野生动物饮水困难问题。（视频由四川台提供）
