This was the moment an "aggressive" elephant suddenly turned around and began chasing after a vehicle in Yala National Park, Sri Lanka.

Footage filmed by a passenger shows the vehicle carefully trailing the elephant but after a few moments, the mammal suddenly swings around and begins running towards the car.

The driver starts honking the vehicle's car and quickly reverses before the oncoming elephant eventually lets off.

The elephant was identified as Sando, an aggressive mammal that returned to the park after two years.

A giant elephant chased a safari truck packed with visitors in Sri Lanka's Yala National Park, spread across the Southern and Uva provinces on February 21.

A video features a couple of youngsters in their safari truck following a lone elephant wandering in the forest cover. However, on discovering the presence of the visitors behind it, the giant tusker begins to chase them, while the driver reverses the vehicle. After a while, the mammal drifts apart while the youth behold the occurrence.

The enraged tusker, identified as Sando, is a very aggressive mammal who came back to the Yala National Park after two years. The group of youngsters in the safari truck narrowly escaped a mishap due to the alertness of the driver. Furthermore, a safe distance should be maintained from the wild animals in the forest cover.
