A team of wildlife officials rescued a leopard caught in a snare in Sri Lanka's Central Province on March 24.

The incident took place in Bogawantalawa, with footage showing officials tranquilize the struggling leopard with a dart, and transfer it into a metal box.

Later on, the leopard was moved to Randenigala veterinary hospital for treatment for its injuries.

A video features a leopard trembling after getting trapped in a snare. Following this, the officials rush to the spot and prepare to tranquilize the mammal. After a few moments, they shoot a dart at the creature and successfully immobilize it. Moreover, they rescue the animal and confine it inside a cage while the onlookers witness and behold the occurrence.

A leopard that got trapped in a snare was rescued by the Department of Wildlife Conservation officials and wildlife veterinarians. Later on, the leopard was transferred to Randenigala veterinary hospital for further treatments. This has been the second incident reported this year, and in both the occurrences, leopards were fortunate enough to survive because of the wildlife officials.
