This footage was filmed and produced 27 March 2021.

Hundreds of women and LGBTIQ + in Istanbul protested against the termination of the Istanbul Convention. The area where the action will take place was blockaded by the police. Police attacked women who wanted to enter the area. The blockade was lifted with the resistance of the women.

The press release included the following statements:
"We have been on the streets since the unilateral termination of the Istanbul Convention was declared on the night of 19 March by the President's Decree as a result of the anti-women and LGBTI + enemy, religious and conservative campaigns carried out for months. Now, with the urgent notification of this unlawful decision to the Council of Europe, the "withdrawal" period of 3 months has begun. This decision makers, from Turkey to an international agreement preventing violence against women, the name of Istanbul, the agreement opened for signature in Istanbul First, they want to be taken country. But we remind you: The Istanbul Convention is ours. The Istanbul Convention is still in force and we will continue the struggle until every line is implemented.
We have bad news for those who think they can terminate the Istanbul Convention in this way.
We have bad news for those who dare to make decisions on behalf of all women alone.
We have bad news for those who rejoice, "We managed to withdraw the Istanbul Convention, it is time for law numbered 6284.
We have bad news for those who desire to treat women as second class, to make them slaves, those who use violence and want to marry them at an early age, those who want the freedom to abuse children, and those who regard violence as their right to LGBTI +.
"The Istanbul Convention is not enough, we leave CEDAW, which prevents discrimination against women, the Lanzarote Convention, which protects children from abuse, the European Convention on Human Rights with the signature of a single man; we remove the principle of equality from the Constitution; we remove women from all their economic rights from alimony to property sharing. We have bad news for those who hope that we compel ourselves ”.
We have bad news for the perpetrators of violence, who are pleased that the state denies its obligations to protect women and children from male violence, establish support mechanisms to empower women, effectively prosecute and punish perpetrators, prevent male violence, and establish holistic policies.
We have bad news for those who think that we will be deceived by the lie that they continue to fight violently with regulations not based on equality, while the only reason for the murder of women, not men, for reasons such as "what was he doing there at that hour at night", "the salt was lacking in the food", "he tried to leave me".
We have bad news for those who applaud the official state policy of misogyny, slapping the backs of murderers, and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.
The state can be with you today, against women; but you have already lost. You have lost our courage because we exist, because we stand by each other, because we have acquired the rights that you have tried to highlight in one pen today from women who have gained through the struggle of centuries. You lost because we will not give up on our own decisions, equality and freedom no matter what. From the moment we said "no," you lost, because all this is irreversible.
We are here. We are everywhere. We are in revolt. Just this week, at least 4 women were killed in one day. If the effort to abolish the Istanbul Convention had been spent to implement it, they could have survived. Those who are obliged to implement the Istanbul Convention but do not implement them, those who do not prevent violence, those who leave them unpunished and those who do not achieve equality are accomplices of these murders. We say frankly: Either do your duty or resign, because we do not tolerate another disappearance. We do not give up the Istanbul Convention, which is the guarantee of our right to life, nor one of our rights. We call on everyone to grow our struggle together until gender equality is achieved.
We are not silent, we are not afraid, we do not obey!"
