A man living in Dumfries and Galloway attempted to revive a bee struggling on his doorstep by feeding it some honey.

Iain filmed as he placed a sheet with a bit of honey on it next to the distressed insect.

He told Newsflare: "Found an old/ill bee on my back step. He had been there for two days. I remembered something about giving a tired bee some honey for an energy boost. I gave the bee some honey.

"He didn't recover but he'll go out like a king.

"He didn't recover and has been in the same place for three days. I've now brought him inside and given him flowers, water and chocolate sauce as a nice send-off for his service."

This footage was filmed on March 28.

Found an old/ill bee on my back step. He had been there for 2 days. Remembered something about giving a tired bee some honey for an energy boost. Gave the bee some honey. Turns out it should have been sugar water because honey from a different hive can carry dangerous pathogens.
