Police Seals the Home of the Suicide Bombers in the Cathedral Church

The South Sulawesi Regional Police visited the residence of the suicide bomber at the Makassar Cathedral, South Sulawesi, Monday (29/3/2021). At the rented house of the perpetrator, Lukman, which is located in hallway 1, Bunga Ejaya Street, Bunga Ejaya Village, Bontoala District, the police searched and secured a number of evidence.

Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Senior Commissioner of Police E Zulpan, said that after the incident at the Cathedral Church, the joint team immediately moved.

"Including blasting at the perpetrator's rented house. And there a number of evidences were secured there, ”said Zulpan.

According to Zulpan, apart from conducting searches at the perpetrator's house, the joint Police team was also still searching for members of the JAD terrorist group who were involved in the suicide bombing.

"What is certain is that the team is currently developing to find the people involved. This includes who prepared the bomb. Therefore, we are still waiting for the results of development in the field, ”he said.

The suicide bomber named Lukman and his wife are known to have lived in the rented Lorong 1, Jalan Bunga Ejaya for four months.

The two of them were also known to be a married couple who had recently been married.

While living in the densely populated neighborhood, Lukman's activities were unknown. However, Lukman's wife has a small home business selling fried foods and cold drinks.

Despite opening a home business, Lukman and Lukman's wives are known to be very closed with everyone.

The residents around Lukman's house were shocked when they found out that the suicide bomber was living in their settlement.

Currently, Lukman's house has been sealed by the police for further investigation.
