Cobra scares away an eagle which tried to hunt it for food in India
Footage shows a brave cobra scaring away an eagle after the bird tried to hunt the reptile for food.
Bird enthusiast Ramamurthy Karthik said that he was with clients when they spotted the short-toed snake eagle trying to hunt down the spectacled cobra in India.
He said: ‘We were standing half a kilometre while watching the fighters to be safe.
‘It is not easy to keep up with them and I find their hunting prowess fascinating.’
In the video, the eagle is seen furiously staring down at its prey while the cobra meets it eye-to-eye and even fought back the eagle.
