Local police and members of the Indian Army rescued two vehicles stuck in the snow in northern India's Ladakh on March 30.

Video shows rescuers in Ladakh's largest town, Leh, using shovels to clear up to three feet of snow between the Khardung La and South Pullu regions.

According to local sources, it took officials three hours to escort the stranded passengers to safety.

A team of Leh police, along with the Indian Army, rescued two vehicles stuck in the snow in northern India's Ladakh on March 30. The incident took place in Leh.

Visuals feature the officials making way for the vehicles stranded in the snow. They use shovels to clear the snow out of the road. The authorities themselves clear the path amid heavy snowfall in the region and rescue the passengers.

The vehicles got stuck in up to three-feet-deep snow between the Khardung La and South Pullu region. Upon being alerted, a team of Police Station Leh headed by station house officer (SHO), Inspector Mohd Yousuf, along with Indian Army personnel, rushed to the spot and rescued the stranded.

It took the officials three hours to escort the stranded passengers to safety. Moreover, the entire rescue operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, IPS Rajiv Pandey.
