A couple of police officers confronted a man who was "attempting to smash a car window" with a large stone in London.

Footage from January 18 shows a man approaching a parked car with a large stone in his hands.

Before he is able to reach the vehicle, a police car pulls up behind him and a couple of officers get out to confront the man.

An officer is heard asking the man: "What are you doing? Is this your car?"

Saher Naqvi, the filmer, said: "This guy was trying to talk to somebody in the car. Then, he went to lift a stone in order to ram it through the car's window.

"Meanwhile, we contacted the police and they arrived on time. The owner of the car then came out and said that he didn't know the person who was trying to smash his car's window."

Saher Naqvi happened to film this scene from inside of her home through her window. She told us: "This guy was trying to talk to somebody in the car. Then, he went to lift a stone in order to ram it through the car's window."

Saher commended the police's timely arrival and their way of dealing with the situation smartly.
