Man posing as government official held in southern India
Authorities apprehended a man for impersonating as a government official in southern India's Telangana on March 30. The incident took place in Hyderabad.
Visuals shot on March 31 feature several bundles of cash stacked in a row on a counter. Moreover, the officials seize various other items, including some uniforms, and assemble them on a board for public view. Meanwhile, the authorities witness this occurrence and behold it during a press conference.
The sleuths from the North Zone team of the Hyderabad commissioner's task force, along with the police from the Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police station apprehended a white-collar offender Avushodapu Sudhakar and two of his associates named Sangoju Nagaraju and Battala Bheemaiah.
The key accused was arrested for posing as a senior government official with fake identity cards printed with grandiose designations, moving about in a luxury SUV, and with two accused impersonating as security guards in safari suits.
The accused also purchased a toy pistol to deceive people and had defrauded nearly 100 individuals on the pretext of providing them double-bedroom houses by Telangana government, lands, lured youth with promises of police jobs, and also assured supply of gold at cheaper rates. Moreover, after collecting money from these scams, he disappeared.
The arrest was made by K Nageswar Rao, inspector of police, commissioner’s task force, north zone; K Saidulu, inspector of police, SR Nagar police station; sub-inspectors K Srikanth, G Rajashekar Reddy, B Parameshwar, and the north zone task force police personnel.
Furthermore, the officials seized a total of Rs. 2,20,30,000 (USD 301,190) from the accused, which included cash worth Rs. 1,00,30,000 (USD 137,126) and other items like original property house documents, car, cell phones, toy pistol, safari uniforms, fake ID, fake police ID, fake voter ID, fake secretariat entry cards.
