A sea lion gave a scuba diver a cheeky nip on the head during a dive in Canada's cold ocean waters.

He looks very surprised and the filmer laughs underwater.

This video was filmed at Race Rocks in the Juan de Fuca Strait in British Columbia, Canada, on 1 December 2020.

It is a feeding ground and mating site for sea lions as ocean currents bring nutrients to the area.

The filmer said: "My friend and I were diving and there were 10 to 40 sea lions surrounding us. One of them kept coming around and biting my friend on the head. I thought it was so funny, you can even hear me laughing through my regulator (breathing apparatus) in the video."
