Moment of an electric short circuit when strong winds of the Rossby equatorial wave hit Indonesia
Extreme weather with strong winds hit the central part of Sumatra island in Indonesia during Wednesday (31/3) and Thursday (1/4).
Footage filmed early Thursday show the city police of Bukittinggi patrolling the city while urging residents to watch out for fallen trees due to strong winds.
In the footage also recorded a moment of strong winds that caused an electrical short circuit that instantly darkened the city.
Strong winds also caused dozens of trees to fall down on residents' houses, schools and closed access roads in a number of areas.
Minangkabau Meteorological Station in Padangpariaman released, strong wind phenomenon which is a regional scale weather disturbance pattern in the equatorial area which is called the Rossby Equator wave on the Sumatra island west side.
Meteorological station data records the maximum wind speed of up to 33 knots, or about 60 km per hour, so it is categorized as extreme weather.
