Grandmother from Naberezhnye Chelny, Russia sews handmade face masks for neighbors

When the COVID-19 pandemic started, there was a shortage of face masks in Russia. People had to come up with creative ways to deal with this problem. This lovely lady from Naberezhnye Chelny sewed handmade masks to help out other people.

On the video she says "We grandmothers can help from home by preparing masks. Just like during The Great Patriotic War when all grandmothers were sewing socks for people at the front. They were knitting and sending them to the soldiers. The same we will be doing now, helping with what we can. I made masks, put each one in a bag and hanged them in the common space of my flat building. I wrote a note saying that masks are made of cotton and can be washed. In an hour all masks were gone. We can't go out to the streets and hand out the masks ourselves, we're staying at home. Here they all are, I'm preparing more, here is more material. Here are the elastics that I bought for the masks"
