The annual Easter Bonnet gathering outside of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York went ahead on Sunday (April 4) despite the pandemic.

The social event brought a crowd to the steps of the flagship of the most famous Catholic religious site in the city.

The crowd filled the sidewalk as photographers snapped and attendees flaunted their fancy dress and outrageous hats.

As the event neared an end, notorious street performer "crackhead Barney" laid on the ground rolling around in fake blood as an Easter Bunny rapped for the crowd.
